Full Description

Centred at NH 598 256, on a NE-facing slope, is a settlement of three stone-walled huts (A-C). Huts A and B, are contiguous, and the same size, measuring c. 14.5.m E-W by c. 12.0m N-S between the centres of a wall spread to c. 4.0m all round, with a simple entrance in the E arc. Around the upper SW arc of 'A' is a ditch, probably for drainage, which is c. 0.5m wide and 0.2m deep. Occasional outer facing stones are visible in both huts.
'C' is on the edge of an old river terrace, its NE half having been destroyed by erosion. It measures c. 14.0m NW-SE between the centres of a wall spread to c. 3.5m. Occasional outer facing stones can be seen, but no entrance is apparent.
To the SW of the huts is an area of stone clearance heaps and a few lynchets and ruinous field walls. No distinct plots are evident, due to peat build-up.
