Full Description
Gasworks marked on 1st ed OS. There is a weighing machine to the N of a building on the E end of complex and a circular "gasometer" in the centre of the complex. Modern bungalows from this plot to the coast now, but according to a local resident there are remains of the gasworks as coal chutes in the upper parts of the site (NB the site rises sharply at back of plot to road leading to High St - could have been access at this level too, as for the saw mill) - HAW 11/2003
