Full Description

On a south facing hillside of fairly steep slope, are the remains of two clearance cairns, recorded during a site survey by S Birch in 1999. One cairn is 2m in diameter and stands to 0.5m in height. The second cairn, to the southeast, is a sprawl of boulders 5m diameter running down the slope and stands to 1m in height. Other small mounds of loose stones lie nearby, but could be natural slope failure. No cultivation rigs could be found in association with the cairns. <1>

The plan in <1> showing the position of these two clearance cairns (Fig. 32) is c.100m to the north of the given grid reference [IS-L 06/10/2025].
