Full Description
An archaeological walkover survey of a single, distinct area of proposed planting of natural woodland regeneration was carried by M. Wildgoose at Coille an Torran, Raasay in 1999.
Site 34: Situated under birch woodland on the hillside to the south-east of the old school is a ruined pen. The pen is set against the west face of a low outcrop, is sub-circular in plan and measures 3.0m by 2.5m overall. There is no obvious entrance. <1>
Raasay Survey 2000. Site 32: Set against the west face of outcrop to the southeast of Torran Schoolhouse are the much degraded remains of a sub-circular stone-built pen, being reclaimed by the birch woodland. Measuring about 2.0m by 2.50m internally and standing to a height of less than 0.50m it has no obvious entrance. <2>
