Full Description

Site 6b: A well preserved, circular stone pen which measures 8.0m in diameter over walls 1.0m thick and still over 1.0m high. Several small pens are visible amongst the rocks around the pen. A well-preserved entrance faces north. <1>

Raasay Survey 2000: Site 30a: A sub-circular enclosure on a slope facing approximately southwest towards the landward end of Loch Arnish. The entrance, 1.70m wide, is in the northwest quadrant. Internal measurements are 5.80m by 5.60m with walls about 1.0m thick standing to a maximum of just over 1.0m. Two straight sections of wall in an angle to each other cut off possible compartments at the back but no purpose can be determined other than that the ground on the other side of these walls is full of very sharp tumble, probably too large to be cleared out when the rest of the enclosure was built. This large tumble forms part of the wall at the north side of the entrance. <2>

NGR adjusted based on 2009 vertical aerial photographs. <3>
