Full Description
An archaeological walkover survey of a single, distinct area of proposed planting of natural woodland regeneration was carried by Martin Wildgoose at Coille an Torran, Raasay in 1999.
Site 5: Lying on a south-west facing slope at the head of Am Feadam and just 80.0m to the north of Site 04 is a square, stone built pen. The pen measures 2.0m by 2.0m over walls 0.6m thick and standing to 1.2m high. A well-preserved entrance faces along the slope to the south-east. <1>
Raasay Survey 2000. Site 28: An almost square sheep shelter or small pen measuring 1.70m by 1.90m internally on a southwest-northeast axis with an entrance 0.70m wide facing northwest. The well preserved stone-built walls, 0.60m thick, stand to a height of 1.30m at the highest point externally in the south wall.. <2>
