Full Description
An archaeological walkover survey of a single, distinct area of proposed planting of natural woodland regeneration was carried by Martin Wildgoose at Coille an Torran, Raasay in 1999.
Site 4: Tucked into the south-east side of a small outcrop, at the head of Am Feadam, is an egg shaped stone pen that measures 2.5m by 2.0m over walls 0.8m thick. The walls still stand to a maximum of 1.1m high. A narrow entrance faces to the east, across the slope. <1>
Raasay Survey 2000. Facing south, Feature 27 lies on the east side of a col facing into the Inner Sound of Raasay, tucked into a small outcrop. Roughly triangular in shape the dry-stone sheep pen walls measure 1.9m, 1.3m and the north side 2.3m in length. Utilising a large natural boulder the highest wall stands to 1.3m in the south. The possible entrance faces east. <2>
