The GR for this is in open field to W of house and is wrong. The correct location has been allocated another SMR number - check - HAW 5/2003
This site is located near the entrance of Applecross House Drive, within a replanted wood. This drinking place, locally known as "Stroupan a' Bhile" or translated to 'The small spout of the lips'.
It may be the site of the Holy Well mentioned by Dr Reeves in Vol 3 of the Society of Antiquities of Scotland 1857 to 1860. The road round the bay was completed in 1800 and laid over part of a building. The building may have been a monks cell - set up by Melrubha's followers. Others located in Lochcarron and Torridon/Sheiling area.
