Full Description
NC60NE 16.03 6837 0505
There is a C-shaped burnt mound by a burn just outside the S angle of the head-dyke around the township of Achadh a' Choirce (NC60NE 16.00). It measures 9.4m NE to SW by 7.8m transversely and 1.5m in height. A depression on the SE side, opening towards the burn, marks the site of the trough. The lifting of a turf revealed that it was composed of cracked stones and charcoal-flecked soil.
