Full Description

NC61SE 16 6892 1015

The wasted remains of this hut-circle are situated at about 275m OD on the SSW-facing slopes of Meall Achadh na Luachrach. To the SE and W there are traces of a field system, overlain by later structures (NC61SE 17). One of these later buildings (ROG95 905) has been built over the hut-circle itself, and little of it survives above ground, but it appears to have measured about 12m in overall diameter, and it was terraced up on the SSW. The remains of the field-system comprise an area of about 0.9ha to the SE of the hut-circle (centred on NC 6896 1007) within which there are scatters of small cairns and the slight remains of banks and lynchets. Another area of small cairns, about 0.1ha in extent, lies to the W of the hut at NC 6888 1014.
