NC70SW 42.03 7477 0441, 7486 0439 and 7501 0455

There are three burnt mounds scattered around the S and E fringe of the S group of remains at Achork. They vary considerably in size and form: one is U-shaped, the second C-shaped and the third circular. The U-shaped mound (ROG95 420, NC 7477 0441), which displays two phases of use at the trough, measures 13m from N to S by 9m transversely and stands to about 0.75m in height. The C-shaped mound (ROG95 423, NC 7486 0439) measures 11.6m across and stands 1.5m high with an opening on the SSE. The circular mound (ROG95 426, NC 7501 0455) is considerably smaller, measuring 5m in diameter.
