Full Description

NC70SW 67 7300 0236

There are two burnt mounds beside a small watercourse in a gully to the NNE of Corry. On the roughly improved terrace to the E of the mounds there are several heaps of stone, possibly small cairns, and short stretches of linear clearance heaps.
The N burnt mound (ROG95 514, NC 7300 0236) is circular, measuring 5m in diameter and 0.4m in height, with a hollow at the centre of the mound. The second mound (ROG95 513, NC7302 0233) is oval and measures 9.5m from N to S by 7.5m transversely and 0.4m in height, with a dimple on the N side. Lifting a sod from both mounds revealed cracked stone set in a black soil.
