This farmstead, which is situated on a terrace at the E edge of the enclosed fields of Rhilochan, comprises a cluster of four buildings (ROG95 103-6) set around a stackyard, with a fifth building (ROG95 107) lying some 80m to the NE. The buildings around the stackyard include the dwelling (ROG95 106), which has an outshot at either end and is still partially roofed, as well as what have probably been three sheds (ROG95 103-5), each with a wide entrance in one end. There are four circular and one rectangular stack stands in the yard to the E of the dwelling.
The building to the NE (ROG95 107, NC 7483 0731) is situated on the nearest piece of flat ground and may have formed part of the same unit.
The dwelling (ROG95 106) and one of the sheds (ROG95 103) are shown as roofed on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1879, sheet xcvi) together with the building to the NE (ROG95 107), which is joined to the farmstead by a track. The 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1907, sheet xcvi) depicts the four buildings (ROG95 103-6) around the stackyard as roofed, while the building to the NE had become roofless.
