Full Description

Small cairns and field banks (NC70NW 72.01) are scattered over the SW slopes of Cnoc Ard an Tionail.
Visited by RCAHMS (SH) August 1989.

The broad heather-covered terrace on the W flank of Cnoc ard an Tionail is crossed by a stony bank, running for 200m NE from the public road, turning to the SE at the back of the terrace and extending for 80m before disappearing in the disturbed ground beside the track to the radio mast on the hill. The bank may have extended to the S of the public road (see NC 70NW 11). The ground to the E of the bank is smooth and relatively free of stones in contrast to the ground to the W, where there is a scatter of at least twenty small cairns, measuring up to 4m in diameter and 0.3m in height, extending to the edge of the crofts.
