Full Description

NC70NW 4.06 7056 0592 and 7060 0589

Two buildings are situated on a ridge to the SE of the township and to the NW of a small patch of rough grassland which may have been cultivated.
The N building (NC 7056 0592, ROG95 399) measures 7.8m by 3.4m within faced-rubble footings. It is depicted as roofed on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1879, sheet xcvi), and thus continued in use after the abandonment of the township to the NW, but was unroofed by the date of the 2nd edition map (Sutherland 1907, sheet xcvi). A small stone heap to the WSW may be the product of clearance.
The S building (NC 7060 0589, ROG95 951) measures 5.7m by 2.6m internally and is shown as unroofed on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map
(ROG95 399, 951)
Visited by RCAHMS (DCC) 6 July 1995
