A township, comprising twenty-three roofed, two partially roofed, nine unroofed buildings, three enclosures and a head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1876, sheet lxxvi). Fourteen roofed buildings, one partially roofed building, sixteen unroofed buildings, eight enclosures and the head-dyke are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1970).

A rapid walk-over archaeological survey was carried out in 1999 by J. Wordsworth as part of the preparation for a planned Community Woodland in Knoydart. <1>
This township was noted by WCAS during a 2012 DBA and walkover survey in advance of a woodland creation scheme. Many buildings, walls, enclosures, clearance cairns and other such features were noted. For individual feature descriptions, please see associated report. <2>
