This grid reference is centred - the township is spread over a considerable area and there is no specific focus of settlement.

A crofting township comprising fifty-one roofed buildings, one of which is a long building and which also include a smithy, two partially roofed buildings, ten unroofed buildings and their associated enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Island of Skye 1880, sheet vi). A system of head-dykes occupies the hill ground to the E of the township and connects with the township of Idrigil (NG36SE 12) to the S.
Twenty-nine roofed, six partially roofed and twenty-two unroofed buildings, and the system of head-dykes are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1968).
