The former township of Balmeanach, Glenhinnisdal.

A crofting township comprising four roofed and five unroofed buildings, three enclosures, some field walls and what may be two phases of head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Isle of Skye 1880, sheet xi). The township is defined on the E by Lon a' Bhaile Mheadhonaich which separates it from the township of Peinlich ("Peinlea" on the OS 1st edition 6-inch map).

Four roofed, one partially roofed and twenty-two unroofed buildings, their associated enclosures and field walls and two phases of head-dyke are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1968). To the W of Lon Raagil is a field-system (NG 406 583) and another smaller field-system lies to the N (NG 407 587) of the township.

Although described by RCAHMS as a 'crofting township' the cartographic and aerial photographic evidence would tend to suggest that only the eastern part next to the Lon a' Bhaile Mheadhonaich was crofted, almost as an adjunct to Peinlea (Peinlich) to the east and that much of the area to the west was either abandonded or used for grazing [IS-L 14/10/2026].
