Air photography has recorded a number of sub-rectangular/square dyked enclosures and a deserted building at Knappach. (See archive for details)

A township, comprising three roofed buildings, one partially roofed, one unroofed building and two enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1872, sheet cii). One roofed building and one enclosure are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1994).
