the extents of rig cultivation in the vicinity of Creagbheiteachain on the S-facing slopes of Glen Scaddle were sketch plotted onto a 1:10000 map by J Wordsworth during a pre-afforestation survey.
J Wordsworth (Wordsworth Archaeological Services) 5 March 1998; NMRS MS 961/26
The farmstead of Creagbheiteachain, comprising two roofed buildings, is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Argyll-shire 1875, sheet xix). The E building comprises an L-shaped range at the SE corner of a large enclosure with a second, smaller building to the W along the S side of the enclosure. Traces of two more enclosures lie to the E. Both buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1973). That on the W is roofless whilst the L-shaped range remains partially roofed.
