What may be a mill is situated at the back of a small terrace just above the high water mark to the NNE of the Sgeir a'Mhuilinn. The building measures 11.6m from NNW to SSE by 3.1m transversely within faced-rubble footings 0.6m in thickness and up to 1.5m in height. There is an entrance on the WSW, and the interior has been divided into two compartments, with what may be a hut or further subdivision in the NNW compartment. A stone-built platform and a terrace extend to the W from the side of the building. The lade runs into the leading edge of the terrace above the mill (marked on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1971) as a drain) from the ENE and is fed from the Allt a'Ruisteal by at least two channels.
Two roofed buildings and an enclosure are shown at this location on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Cromartyshire 1881, sheet iiiA), one of which corresponds with the mill, but is not annotated as such. The line of the lade is partially depicted but is also not annotated. The 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross and Cromarty, 1906, sheet iii) depicts an unroofed building and an enclosure at this location.
