Full Description

This site was visited by DML with Donald Kennedy. The site lies on a SW facing slope at around 150m OD. The visit was undertaken to try and ascertain whether or not the feature was archaeological or natural. The visit unfortunately failed to fully ascertain the nature of the site. The rocky outcrop does indeed appear to be natural, but use of the outcrop, which lies in a strategic position looking across Loch Arienas cannot be ruled out. The vegetation cover on and around the outcrop does appear to be of a better quality than the surrounding area, and this could be due to previous use of the site. No structural features were obvious however.

This site may well remain a mystery without excavtion work.
