What may be one unroofed shieling-hut is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire 1881, sheet xci) and on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1969).

A rapid walk-over survey of a proposed Woodland Grant Scheme application at North Applecross, Wester Ross, was undertaken by C. Dagg in 1999.
Site no. I4: Shielings. Where the well-built section of path ends and the path begins to climb steeply, about 100m to the SE is a small shieling site, on a burn which has split into two channels. One rectangular building and around three large storage structures. <1>
