Full Description

What may be two unroofed shieling-huts, an enclosure and a field wall are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire 1881, lxxxii) and on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1971).
Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 1 March 1996.

A walkover survey and desk-based assessment was undertaken by J Wordsworth and J Harden at Torridon for the National Trust for Scotland in 1996-2002.

On the west bank of the Allt a'Gharaidh are two possible shieling mounds measuring c4m by c3m and c3m by c2m. They are aligned E/W. A stone wall runs N/S c4m to the east of the larger structure and probably formed a retaining wall. These structures were shown as unroofed from 1881 but were not recorded in 1837. A little further up the hill there is a circular structure c1.5m in diameter and nearly clm high with an entrance in the east. The bank of the burn nearby has been reveted, presumably to prevent erosion down the former stream bed. <1>
