The original township as recorded on the 1st edition OS map now lies mostly under the Aultbea Lodges development, or within forestry planted east of the lodges. Between the lodges and the forestry is a strip of overgrown grassland, within which can be seen some field clearance piles and some grassy footings. West of the lodges, within a young coniferous plantation can be seen the substantial field clearance piles, consumption dykes and field walls of cultivation associated with the township. East of the lodges, an area recorded as narrow cultivation strips on the 1st edition OS map is now an improved field bounded by a 19th century drystone dyke. At the base of this dyke some stones and mounds appear to be township structures cut across by the dyke.

Township cleared by Meyrick Bankes after 1851 to add lands to the sheep farm and build the lodge.

A township comprising six roofed, two partially roofed, thirty-two unroofed buildings, and seven enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire 1881, sheet xix). Six roofed and five unroofed buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1968).
