Full Description
Corres from M Macdonald regarding Novar windfarm extension: the site is recorded on Gen Roy's Survey of c1750 as the garbled but recognisable Rivacky. In 1991 while researching the Evanton Oral History Proj, Adrian Clark noted a large building as follows "it measures c20m x 5m & the walls stand 5-7 feet high. The top end is divided & there is a semi circular enclosure to the SW .. A few hundred yards to the N also hidden in plantation are the ruins of 2 further holdings." The lands of Rearchar also appear in the calendar of writs of Munro of Foulis eg in a tack of 1586 as Refarquhar and a precept of 1619 as Rhieferquhar - HAW 6/2003
