A crofting township comprising eleven roofed buildings, two of which are long buildings, one partially roofed long building, nine unroofed buildings, two of which are long buildings, at least five enclosures, a field-system and a head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1876, sheet xxvii). One partially roofed and twenty-two unroofed buildings, one of which is labelled as the remains of St. Bridget's Chapel (ND04SE 6), six enclosures, a field-system and a head-dyke are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1962).
