Full Description
NMRS record of a burnt mound at ND 3016 4333. No further information.
ND34SW 89 30204 43265.
This burnt mound is situated immediately W of an area of wet ground at the foot of the E flank of the Hill of Yarrows. Crescentic on plan, with its open side facing E, the grass- and heather-grown mound measures 5m from N to S by 3.5m transversely and up to 1m in height. The mound lies in a small area of rough ground between areas of improved ground that are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix).
