Named as Balnaling on 1st ed OS. Now gone appears to be large stone clearance heaps from road.
NB Bal element to placename might indicate Pictish farmstead - HAW 6/2003
NH69SE 40 centred on 6720 9020
A farmstead, comprising two roofed buildings, one unroofed building, and two enclosures, is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1879-81, cxi). It is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1971).
