Full Description
Grass-covered mound beside a burn, measuring about 22m NW-SE by 19m transversely and 1.2m max height. The surface is considerably disturbed and many stones lie about, forming no intelligible pattern. The classification is uncertain; it may be a cairn, but its situation is against this and it is more likely to be associated with several shielings close by. It is similar to a mound at ND 281 487, a mound 'E' of ND26NE 1, and to ND24SE 4.
Visited by OS (A A) 19 April 1972.
This is the largest of a number of wasted shieling mounds.
Visited by OS (J M) 7 December 1982.
