A farmstead comprising one unroofed building with an attached enclosure is depicted on the 1st edition of the 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xviii). An enclosure is shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1971).

A DBA and walkover survey was carried out by RPS Consultants in July 2006 in advance of a proposed wind farm development near Spittal, Caithness.
Site 7; Croft, now reduced to turf covered mound. <1>
