Two roofed long buildings, one unroofed building of two compartments, one unroofed structure and four enclosures are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1876, sheet xi). Three roofed buildings and eight enclosures are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1975).
They have the appearence of being workers cottages possibly belonging to a nearby quarry.
