This farmstead is bounded by a stream on the E and by a stony bank on the other sides. It comprises the ruins of a shepherd's house with related outbuildings and walled enclosures; a stalker's hut, partly collapsed, abuts the front of the house. This house still known locally as Staingachoire, (OS 6-inch map, Sutherland, 1st ed., 1874) was inhabited within living memory, the name probably being transferred when the earlier inhabited area, some 200m to the S (see NC64NW 3), was abandoned at the time of the clearances. On the bank of the stream, at NC 6522 4739, is a ruinuos structure that was probably a corn-drying kiln.

This farmstead comprising three roofed buildings and an enclosed area of cultivation is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, sheet xxxv). Three unroofed buildings, two unroofed structures and an enclosure are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map (1992).
