The name Balechin is not known locally. The minor deserted township at NC 895 436 was named Forsinard according to local sources.

A farmstead comprising three unroofed buildings, one of which is a long building is depicted in a field on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, xxxviii). Two roofed and three unroofed buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,560 map (1962).
