Full Description
At ND 0062 2611, in formerly cultivated ground slightly above the flood-plain of the Langwell Water, is a mound, 1.7m high, and measuring 15m E-W by 14m N-S. It is turf-covered, but numerous large slabs are exposed all over the mound; some of these are earthfast and upright but they form no discernible pattern, ie. of a chambered cairn, though they do indicate beyond doubt the artificiality of the mound.
Surveyed at 1:10,000. Visited by OS(NKB) 26 October 1982.
Mound of uncertain identification, but possibly an untouched wag or round wag.
Information from Dr J Close-Brooks to RCAHMS, 1990.
