Full Description

NH 0985 2190 (centred) A farmstead, comprising three buildings situated to the W of the track on the floodplain of the River Affric, was recorded during a survey of the West Affric estate by J Wordsworth for the National Trust for Scotland. One building measures 10.5m by 4.5m over grassed-over walls. No entrance is visible. A second structure survives as low grassy mound measuring 11m in length by 4m in width at the E end tapering to 3m at the W. This building is possibly a byre with an external drain. The third building is at least 9m long, and perhaps up to 11m in length, and 4m wide. No stones are visible in either of these buildings. Two turf mounds to the W may be natural features. The grassland to the SE of the track, which has possibly had a watercourse canalised, may have been the arable ground for the farm.
