Full Description
A series of stakes set into the mud extending out from the shore at a point c. NH728 653 marks the remains of a timber yair or fishtrap. There is a complicated timber box sited close to the Gordonsmills Burn that would appear to be the actual trap or yair. The yair is shown on a survey of the Cromarty Firth dated 1836/7. (APs also show it.)
J Aitken : 08/05/01.
