Full Description

JW, 04/10/95.
A possible small fort is sited on a hill overlooking Glenmarksie and Loch Luidart. The hill is defended by steep cliffs to the S and E. There are no obvious defences other then a low bank defining two enclosures on the plateau of the hill. To the W there is an entrance defined by stone pointing and two stone walls. Within the enclosures the vegetation is mixed grassland contrasting with the heather-clad moorland evident elsewhere in the vicinity.
This could just be the remains of a more recent enclosure except the exposed position of the site and its restrictive entrance.
J Aitken : 04/05/01.
