Full Description

The site of the Chapel of Ease, apparently the first church of Scotland establishment in Fort William, occupied a site behind the present Crofters pub and to this a graveyard was attached whch spread across what is now the High Street in front of the Royal Bank at NN 1029 7400. The building is said to have been replaced by what became the Town Hall in c.1792. Human remains have been found beneath the High Street in this area on several occasions during service installations, mostly disarticulated.
