Full Description
A coffin cairn situated on the side of the A82 road. The coffin cairn marks the junction of Glencoe and the Lairg Estate. It is also said to be the first place the coffin of the Earl of Breadalbane was rested en route to the burial isle, St Munda. Originally the cairn was just a heap of stones and was partially destroyed by navvies, on the way from workcamp from the Kingshouse. It has since been restored by the National Trust for Scotland and it now appears slightly larger than it was and has changed in shape to one more like the original.
