Full Description
There are remains of four shielings lying in a green patch on rising ground some 540 m SW of the ruined cottage at Snitut. The remains consist of grass and stone foundations and vary in size from 4 by 3m to 7 by 3m and 0.2m in average height.

An unroofed shieling-hut is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1876, sheet xxvii). Four unroofed shieling-huts are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,560 map (1962).
