Full Description
Woody Knowe (a depopulated settlement).
OS 6-inch map, 2nd ed., Sutherland, (1906)
A minor deserted settlement comprising a 'long-house', two subsidiary buildings, a corn drying kiln within an area resettled about 1900. The name Woody Knowe is still applied to the settlement but this is almost certainly a post-clearance derivation; the original Gaelic name is not known, but it may have been part of Langdale township (NC64NE 2).
Visited by OS (NKB) 18 December 1978.
