Full Description
Situated on elevated ground on S bank of River Thurso are four small circular mounds 0.3m maximum height and slightly hollowed out on top; they appear to be the remains of shielings, and are formed entirely of turf. They vary from 3.5 to 4.5m in diameter and entrances were not apparent. The immediate area, although now boggy, seems to have been cultivated at some early date.
Visited by OS (J L D) 15 April 1961.
