Around the edge of the cairn are several large stones set on edge and many stones lie scattered over the mound. On N side, a shepherd's cairn has been erected. (ND 1315 4733) Cairn (NR) OS 6" map, (1963)
This cairn, as described by previous field investigator, is composed of unusually large blocks and slabs of stone. A small crude enclosure 2m across has been constructed on the cairn. The noted rectangular structure is later. Whether the cairn was chambered cannot be ascertained from the remains.
Revised at 1:10560. Visited by OS (J B) 16 March 1982.
