At NC 6905 0467, on a steepish slope some 11m back from a stream, is a burnt mound, measuring 11m by 10m across and 0.9m high. Rabbit burrowing through the turf cover has ejected blackened earth containing friable stone fragments.
Surveyed at 1:10 000. Visited by OS (J M) 7 October 1980.
This sub-circular burnt mound is situated on a steep SSE-facing hillside above an unnamed burn. It measures 10m in diameter and 1.2m in height. A hollow on the SW side may mark the position of a trough; below this hollow, just above the burn, there is a short length of rough revetment walling.
