Full Description

NC60SE 19 6724 0495 and 6729 0494.

At NC 6724 0495 and NC 6729 0494, on a terrace high up in a SW-facing slope, are two vague platforms (A and B respectively), accompanied by a scatter of stone clearance heaps of a type commonly found in association with hut circles. All that remains of the platforms are the SW arcs of stone revetting 0.4m high forming a front apron, which measure 12.0m - 13.0m long with a chord depth of 3.0m - 4.0m. No back scarps can be seen, and no entrances are apparent.
Due to the limited nature of the remains caused in part by the build-up of peat, these features cannot be classified with any degree of certainty. They may be hut platforms associated with the nearby clearance heaps.
Surveyed at 1:10 000.
Visited by OS (N K B) 24 March 1981.

These two roughly circular platforms, probably the remains of hut-circles, are situated 50m apart on a SW-facing heather-covered hillside about 600m N of Muie. That to the W (ROG95 230) measures 12m NW to SE by 10m transversely and that to the E (ROG95 231) measures 13m in diameter. Around the front edge of each platform there is a stony revetment 0.4m high, while, to the rear both, platforms merge with the slope. There are small cairns on the terrace around the E platform, while the slope to the S has a 'smoothed' appearance suggesting that it was cultivated at one time. There are also more small cairns at the bottom of the slope.
