(NC 6296 3493) Enclosure (NR)
OS 6"map, (1963)

The remains of an enclosure found during field investigation on a south-facing slope. The presence of stone in the NW quadrant suggests the existence of a small 'annexe'.
Visited by OS (W D J) 11 May 1961.

This is a hut circle measuring 11.5m in diameter within a heather-covered stone wall, with intermittent inner facing stones visible. The wall is 0.5m high and spread to 2.5m with an entrance in the W. None of the stones within the hut is earthfast, so it is unlikely they formed a constructed 'annexe'.
About a half - dozen clearance heaps are the only remains of contemporary cultivation in the area. Generally the surrounding ground is smooth and stone free.
Visited by OS (J B) 24 March 1977.
