Full Description
NC63NW 27 621 396.
Centred on NC 621 396 on the southern slopes of Druim Odhar, within an early-modern walled field, are two hut circles ('A' and 'B'). 'A' remains as a turf-covered platform built up to 1.4 m high on the S side. The hut wall of indeterminate width has been mutilated, with a 5 metre stretch in the N completely destroyed. The mutilation was probably effected during the construction of a shieling (NC63NW 32) within the hut. Where the wall survives intermittent inner facing stones are visible; within the wall the hut measures about 9.5m N-S by 8.5m. The entrance cannot be located. 'B' exists as a turf-covered platform about 9.0m in diameter. No other features survive. A minor field system of about 3 1/2 hectares defined only by sporadic clearance heaps, surrounds the huts.
Surveyed at 1:10,560.
Visited by OS (J B) 12 April 1977.
