OS 6"map, (1964)

The remains of two enclosures, possibly hut-circles accompanied by many mounds of earth and stone, probably clearance heaps, found during field investigation, on the lower slopes of a west-facing hill.
Visited by OS (W D J) 12 May 1961.

The two structures noted above are undoubtedly hut circles.
'A' consists of a low wall of bare stones, partially turf-covered. It measures 6.5m in diameter internally with the wall spread to 2.0m. The entrance is in the SE. Two clearance heaps lie within the hut.
'B' is 13.0m N-S by 11.5m within a heather-covered wall spread to 2.0m and 0.4m high. The entrance is in the S.
There are a number of clearance heaps around the huts especially in the vicinity of 'B'; no plots were seen. A partially heather-covered double wall, 2.5m wide and 0.4m high, situated on the S side of the huts, is probably contemporary.
Revised at 1/10,000.
Visited by OS (J B) 18 March 1977.
