Full Description

(A : NC 6631 3673 and B : NC 6635 3678) Hut Circles (NR)
OS 6"map, (1963)

The two hut circles (A and B) - previously noted and investigated (RCAHMS and OS {J L D}) - are positioned on a NW-facing hill-slope, and accompanied by a minor field system. The latter, about two hectares extent, is denoted in numerous heaps of stone clearance and in one or two lynchets; a cultivation plot, 10.0 by 40.0m, is identified.
'A' is 14.0m by 11.0m inside a heather-covered wall reduced to 0.3m high and spread to 1.5 - 2.0m broad; a probable entrance, in the SE quarter, is on the line of the longer axis. In the interior are obscure footings of a bothy type structure.
'B', of slight form, is 5.0m diameter inside a turf-covered wall standing 0.2m high and spread to 1.5m broad; an entrance is from the ENE.
Visited by OS (J L D) 11 May 1961 and (J M) 16 March 1977.
